ALGEIRS - The head of Algeria's state-owned oil giant Sonatrach has been replaced, state television reported Tuesday.

Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour, who had headed the vital firm since 2017, was replaced by Rachid Hachichi on the orders of the country's interim Prime Minister Abdelkader Bensalah, it said without giving details on why.

The judiciary is currently investigating other senior officials and prominent businessmen suspected of corruption.
